3 Spells For Healing From Your Most Embarrassing Failures
Failure is never fun but if you’re someone who goes after your dreams, you’re bound to make mistakes along your path to success. Failures are nothing to be ashamed of. Many visionaries believe that failure is a valuable tool for growth and learning.
Arianna Huffington, the founder of the Huffington Post, said, “We need to accept that we won’t always make the right decisions, that we’ll screw up royally sometimes—understanding that failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of success.”.
You’ve probably read quotes like that and nodded your head in agreement. Intellectually it makes perfect sense. After all, everyone makes mistakes.
However, many people don’t address the feelings of shame, anger, or fear that can occur when they experience a failure. If you don’t acknowledge and process those feelings, you may develop some sneaky limiting beliefs. For example, if you have an idea for a marketing campaign only to see it flop, you might subconsciously start believing that your ideas are no good. Your witchcraft is a powerful tool to help you rise above failure quickly and smoothly.
If you’ve just experienced a setback in your life—whether it’s personal or career-related, you’re in the right place. Here are three spells to help you get back your confidence, shake off the disappointment, and stand tall in your power.
Hidden Blessing Egg Spell
This spell is perfect if you feel you need to cleanse yourself of unwanted energy from your past failure.
What You’ll Need:
a glass cup
a mortar and pestle
an outdoor garden or potted house plant
Hold the egg in your left hand and charge it with your intention by saying this incantation:
“For failures big, and failures small,
This egg absorbs and traps them all.”
The egg is now ready to absorb any unwanted energy related to your failure. Rub the egg along your body. Move it up and down your legs, torso, face, and the top of your head. If you sense that certain areas in your body need extra cleansing, rub the egg there a little longer until you feel the energy move out of that area.
When you feel like the egg has absorbed most of your unwanted energy, crack the egg into your glass cup. Examine the egg yolk. Does it look fresh? Does it smell ok? If your egg yolk looks good, you can discard it down the garbage disposal or in the trash. Don’t eat it or you’ll bring all of that unwanted energy back into your body.
If your egg looks or smells like it has gone bad, this means you still have more unwanted energy to release from your body. You must get another egg and repeat the cleansing process.
Once you’ve released your unwanted energy into the egg, your next step is to grind up the eggshell with your mortar and pestle.
Use the eggshell as fertilizer for your garden or potted plants. This is symbolic of how you will turn this failure into something good. Your setback will ultimately lead to personal growth.
Popsicle Stick Tarot Spell
I find this spell incredibly satisfying because it involves breaking things. Perform this spell when you feel like your failures have trapped you in a negative situation. This spell is empowering and can open your mind to possible solutions.
What You’ll Need:
eight popsicle sticks
a pen or marker
a tarot deck
Pull the Eight of Swords, the Wheel of Fortune, and the Sun (or your favorite positive tarot card) from your deck.
Think of eight things that make you feel frustrated, sad, or trapped because of your failure. For example, if you’re upset about not getting a promotion at work you could write things like: “I’m not getting the raise I was counting on.” or “I can’t quit because I might not find another job.”.
Write one of those eight frustrations on each of the popsicle sticks. Arrange them in a circle on the floor so one end of each popsicle stick is pointing toward the middle of the circle.
Sit in the center of the circle. Hold the Eight of Swords in your hand and focus on the imagery and meaning of this card. The Rider-Waite deck shows a blindfolded woman tied up and surrounded by swords. She looks like she’s in a hopeless situation.
Allow yourself to think about your situation and how you feel trapped just like this woman. if any thoughts or feeling come up when you do this, allow them to move through you without judgement.
The message of the Eight of Swords is that even when things look bad, there’s always a way out. Look at the card. Even if you have a different deck, it will probably depict someone or something trapped in a negative situation.
See if you can come up with a way for this woman to free herself. Maybe you decide she can loosen the rope around her wrists to free her hand. Perhaps she can lean up against one sword and use the blade to cut through one of the ropes.
Ideally, your solution for this woman is something she can do to free herself with no outside help.
Next, pick up the Wheel of Fortune card. This card holds the energy of change. Your destiny can change in an instant, and you can decide how to react to those changes. Think about the changes you’ve seen in your life so far. How have you bounced back from other failures in your past?
Then move to each popsicle stick and read what your wrote. As you read it, notice if any thoughts or images come to mind. Do you see any solutions to this frustration? Don’t force this. If you think of something, great. If not, that’s ok, too. This is more about keeping your mind open to the possibility that you’re not as stuck as you originally thought. After you’ve read the popsicle stick, break it in half. This represents how you will overcome this frustration. Do this with the other seven popsicle sticks.
Finally, move back to the middle of the circle and hold the Sun card. This card holds the energy of optimism, joy, and relaxation. It makes me think of vacation. Close your eyes and visualize what you’d like your life to look like after you’ve put this failure behind you. You don’t have to know how to get there. All you have to know it where you’d like to end up. That will complete your spell and begin manifesting your own success story.
Triangle Of Power Spell
This spell helps you see past your current failure so you can focus on the big picture. This spell is perfect for the new moon or full moon because those are the phases right in between the waxing and waning moon phases. Because this spell deals with growing and shrinking energy, the new moon or full moon will create balance between those two contrasting energies.
What You’ll Need:
lighter or match
a fireproof container
Start with a square piece of paper. You can use a standard 8.5-inch by 11-inch sheet and cut it to make a square.
Fold it diagonally so your paper is split into two identical triangles. Keep the paper folded and begin journaling on the paper about your recent failure and how you feel about it. Write along the widest part of the paper (up by the fold). As you write, the paper gets more narrow until it ends with the point of the triangle. This represents how your recent failure will begin to “shrink”. The intention is for your failure to feel small and insignificant.
Next, flip over the paper to the blank part and rotate it so the point is at the top. Begin journaling about all your successes and how proud they make you. Write until you reach the bottom—this will be the widest side of the paper. This represents how your success will seem more meaningful.
Hold your paper and meditate on the idea that success and failure are closely related. The possibility of failure makes success feel even more satisfying.
Finally, tear the paper in half along the diagonal fold. Burn the “failure” side release it once and for all. Bury the “success” side in your garden or any fertile ground so that, like a seed, your successes will grow and multiply over time.
Other Ways To Use These Spells
All three spells can be use for a variety of energies that you’d like to release or resolve. The Hidden Blessing Egg Spell can become a spell to release nervous energy before a big meeting or to heal any jealous feelings you feel around someone else’s success.
The Popsicle Stick Tarot Spell could work as a manifesting spell by writing down the obstacles getting between you and your desire. Break all your popsicle sticks to bust through any potential roadblocks on your way to your goal.
You can use the Triangle of Power Spell to cultivate good habits and release any habits that no longer serve you.
Explore other variations of these spells and enjoy the power they bring to all areas of your life.
